About Us

Florence Rey, from Lyon in France came to Ireland over twenty years ago to work as an au pair, and she also worked at The Henry Grattan pub on Baggot Street in Dublin. Damian Cusack, a chef at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud for over eight years, used to sometimes drop in to The Henry Grattan for a drink after his shift. Florence and Damian bonded over their mutual love of French food and decided to set up their own business. In 1997 they took over the running of La Boulangerie des Gourmets bakery stall at the Temple Bar Food Market in Dublin, and they opened La Boulangerie Française in Applewood, Swords in 2006.
